In short. We collect as little as we can: your email address, your plan and the areas you watch, and your email settings. We use it only to run Ravenmaster.
We never sell or rent your data. We never see your card: Paddle handles payments. We use Google Analytics to see how our sites are used: in the EU, the UK and other places whose law requires it, only if you agree; elsewhere you can opt out at any time. We do not track whether you open our emails.
You can see, change or delete your data at any time from your account, or by writing to hello@ravenmaster.net.
Ravenmaster is a service of Online Matters Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10708397), registered office 590 Kingston Road, London SW20 8DN, England. For this policy, we are the controller of your personal data. Contact: hello@ravenmaster.net.
This policy covers ravenmaster.net, isacrashcoming.com, our reports and your account.
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | To send the reports you asked for and the links that sign you in (a sign-in link works once for 30 minutes; the link in a report works for 7 days and opens only your panel, reports and data). | Contract |
| Your plan, chosen desks and email settings | To send each report to the right people with the right content. | Contract |
| Your time zone (taken from your browser when you sign up) | To show dates in your local time. | Legitimate interests |
| The page or advert through which you signed up | To know which of our pages and adverts bring subscribers. | Legitimate interests |
| Why you cancelled, if you choose to tell us | To improve the service. | Consent (optional) |
| How you use our sites: pages viewed, the site or advert that brought you, device, browser and approximate location (Google Analytics) | To see which pages are useful and which adverts bring visitors. See Cookies below for when we ask first. | Consent where the law requires it; elsewhere legitimate interests, with an opt-out |
| The country you are in, worked out from your IP address when a page loads | Only to choose which cookie notice to show you. Not stored. | Legitimate interests |
| Server logs: IP address, browser, pages requested | To keep the service secure and working. Deleted after 14 days. | Legitimate interests |
| Visit counts: daily totals of visits and visitors per site and page, worked out from the server logs without cookies | To know how many people visit our sites. Only the totals are kept: no IP address, and the code used to count each visitor once a day changes every day and is deleted. | Legitimate interests |
| Messages you send us | To answer you. | Legitimate interests |
We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or anything about your finances, and we do not need them. Please do not send us details of your investments: we cannot advise on them.
A few companies help us run the service. They may only use your data to do that work for us.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK and EU standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Most of this you can do yourself in your account. Otherwise write to hello@ravenmaster.net; we answer within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines it, and you have the rights to know, delete and correct described above.
Ravenmaster is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
What happens on your first visit to ravenmaster.net or isacrashcoming.com depends on where you are:
To choose the notice, our hosting or network provider works out your country from your IP address as the page loads. We use the country only for that and do not store it. In every case, Google Analytics is set up without advertising features: Google signals and ad personalisation are off.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) | Tells visits apart, so we can count visitors and see which pages and adverts work. As described above. | Up to 2 years |
| Sign-in | Keeps you signed in to your account after you click a sign-in link or a link in a report. Strictly necessary. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
Your choice is stored in your browser, not in a cookie. You can change it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page; opting out stops Google Analytics on your next page. Our fonts are served from our own server, so reading our pages does not tell font providers that you visited.
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and, for any material change, tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
